Katie has been actively showing horses since she was a child. She attained an Associate of Arts degree in Equine Studies from the College of Southern Idaho in 2004 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Equestrian Science from William Woods University in 2009 She has given lessons (children & adults) and was an assistant coach at the WWU summer riding program. She has worked with many breeds, including Arabians, on breeding farms and training facilities (halter & performance). In addition, she worked as a veterinary technician at Idaho Equine Hospital for two years.
She has shown many breeds and holds multiple World and National Championship and Reserve titles, as well as many Top Five and Top Ten Awards from the Pinto Horse Association, Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association, and Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. Her favorite events to compete in are western pleasure, trail, show hack, and hunter pleasure, though she has also done extensive equitation. horsemanship, saddleseat and dressage.
Katie lives with her husband, Charles (no stranger to the showring himself), 2 horses (a half-arab and a pinto) and 2 dachshunds, Noodle & Pippet.
